The collect for the fourth week in Lent:
Gracious Father, whose blessed Son Jesus Christ came down from heaven to be the True Bread which gives life to the world: Evermore give us this Bread, that He may live in us, and we in Him, Who lives and reigns withYou and Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
The power in the Body and Blood of Jesus is incredible. Smith Wigglesworth was one of Gods Generals, in healing ministry, signs and wonders. Smith died in 1947. It has been written of his ministry that countless supernatural healings, signs and wonders were done through his ministry. He also raised the dead 14 times. All of this began when he made a commitment to the Lord to go to Holy Communion every day in the Anglican Church of England. He did not belong there but, Smith knew the reality and the power of partaking in the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ. I believe we must also, it is the most intimate connection we have with God. That is to receive His Body and His Blood.
In John chapter 6 we read starting in verse 22 to 71. Jack Hayford writes in my Spirit Filled Life Bible, “This lengthy section provides us with the most in depth New Testament explanation of the significance of Communion and how it is vastly more than a mere ordinance commemorating Jesus death.” Jesus said in vs 51 ” I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread he will live forever, and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world. Vs 57 As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who feeds on Me will live because of Me. This is the bread which came down from heaven- not as your fathers ate the manna and are dead. He who eats this bread will live forever… Many of his disciples went back and walked with Him no more. They knew exactly what Jesus was saying but to them it was a hard saying and they did not receive it.
