History

On February 21, 2016 The Anglocatholic Church (ACC) was established by The Most Reverend Dr. Heigo Ritsbek, M.A., M.Div., D.Min., Litt.D., D.D. with members of The Estonian Anglocatholic Church in Tallinn, Estonia. Estonian Anglocatholic Church was established on May 2, 2012 by (then) Archbishop Dr. Heigo Ritsbek in Tallinn, Estonia. Soon after February 21, 2016 Bishop Emmanuel K. Mensah joined the ACC with his ministries in Ghana, South Africa and Spain (all March 21, 2016).

On Febuary 27th, 2016 The Patriarch’s Council of The Anglocatholic Church was established with His Beatitude Patriarch Heigo Ritsbek, His Eminence Metropolitan Archbishop David Crabtree and His Excellency Bishop Raivo Kodanik. Also on that day the Patriarch nominated The Most Reverend Dr. David Crabtree as the Vicar General of The Anglocatholic Church additionally to his duties as The Metropolitan Archbishop of The Archdiocese of Saint George of the Anglocatholic Church.

On March 11th 2016, the Estonian Government gave its legal reconginition to The Anglocatholic Church.

On March 21, 2016 The Reverend Father Raivo Kodanik (Estonia) was consecrated as the Bishop for The Diocese of The Most Blessed Virgin Mary Mother of God in Tallinn, Estonia.

On April 3, 2016 there was Solemn Opening Mass at former Saint Catherine’s Church sacristy from 1246 – 770 years old room, what is now Chapel for the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity of The Anglocatholic Church in Tallinn, Estonia. The celebrant was His Beatitude Patriarch Dr. Heigo Ritsbek, he was assisted by The Ordinary of The Anglocatholic Church in Estonia – Diocese of The Most Blessed Virgin Mary the Mother of God – Bishop Dr. Raivo Kodanik.

On Sunday, April 17, 2016 there was a Solemn Mass with Intention: Patriarch Dr. Heigo Ritsbek 65 years old at Tallinn Holy Trinity Cathedral of The Anglocatholic Church. The celebrant was The Most Reverend Dr. Raivo Kodanik, D.D., Ordinary of The Anglocatholic Church in Estonia. The sermon was given by The Most Reverend Dr. Heigo Ritsbek, M.A., M.Div., D.Min., Litt.D., D.D., The Patriarch of The Anglocatholic Church.

On March 23, 2016 The Parish of Our Lady and Saint Basil in Toronto, Canada and the priests – The Reverend Father Glentis G. Samuel and The Reverend Father David Smith joined us.

On Friday May 13, 2016, The Most Reverend Dr. David Crabtree, B.S., D.D., The Metropolitan Archbishop of the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Saint George of The Anglocatholic Church, ordained The Reverend Deacon Babu Nasir as a priest and Mr. Lucas Yousaf, Mr. Indriyas Francis and Mr. Balawal as Deacons in Bangkok, Thailand for The Anglocatholic Church.

Bangkok Anglocatholic Parish has 1 priest, 3 deacons, and 327 lay members by May 20,2016. We are in prayer with our brothers and sisters in Thailand at our largest parish worldwide of The Anglocatholic Church.

On May 22, 2016 by the decree of His Beatitude Patriarch Dr. Heigo Ritsbek, The Bishop Elect Glentis G. Samuel has been nominated as a member of The Patriarch’s Council of The Anglocatholic Church. Currently there are four members at The Patriarch’s Council: Patriarch Dr. Heigo Ritsbek (Estonia), Metropolitan Archbishop Dr. David Crabtree (U.S.A.), Bishop Dr. Raivo Kodanik (Estonia), and Bishop Elect Glentis G. Samuel (Canada).

On Sunday June 26, 2016 there was a solemn Pontifical Mass at Tallinn Cathedral of the Holy Trinity celebrating also the 20th anniversary of Patriarch Dr. Ritsbek’s ordination into prieshood. Celebrant was The Most Reverend Dr. Heigo Ritsbek, Patriarch; co-celebrant The Most Reverend Dr. Raivo Kodanik, Ordinary.

On August 14, 2016 Glentis Gladstone Samuel was consecrated bishop by Patriarch Dr. Heigo Ritsbek at Saint Basil’s Cathedral in Toronto, Canada. He was alsao enthroned as the Archbishop for The Archdiocese of Saint Basil of The Anglocatholic Church (Canada).

On August 18th, 2016 Patriarch Dr. Heigo Ritsbel elevated The Reverend Father at Saint Basil Cathedral in Toronto, Canada to the status of Canon. Also he was elevated as a Senior Advisor to Patriarch, and a member of Patriarch’s Council.

On August 24, 2016 The Reverend Father Dominic Mackiewicz (Moscow, Russia) has been incardinated by His Beatitude Patriarch Dr. Heigo Ritsbek, as a priest in Diocese of Saint Mary, Queen of the Rosary of the Anglocatholic Church.

On August 31, 2016 The Most Reverend Jeffrey Pangilinan Orellana from Philippines has joined The Anglocatholic Church forming The Diocese of Divine Trinity of The Anglocatholic Church (Philippines). With the bishop joined us 6 parishes and missions, 5 priests and 20 nuns and 2 deacons with a community of three hundred members.

On September 10, 2016 by the decree of The Most Reverend Dr. Heigo Ritsbek, M.A., M.Div., D.Min.,Litt.D., D.D., The Patriarch of The Anglocatholic Church, The Reverend Father Dominic Mackiewicz, serving at The Diocese of Saint Mary, Queen of the Rosary of The Anglocatholic Church (Moscow, Russia) has been nominated as a Bishop Elect of One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church.

On September 11, 2016 by the decree of The Most Reverend Dr. Heigo Ritsbek, M.A., M.Div., D.Min.,Litt.D., D.D., The Patriarch of The Anglocatholic Church, The Most Reverend Emmanuel Kwasi Mensah (Ghana), serving at The Archdiocese of Saint John the Apostle of The Anglocatholic Church (Ghana, Kenya, Pakistan, South Africa) has been elevated as the Archbishop of The Archdiocese of Saint John the Apostle of The Anglocatholic Church. In the near future there will be elected bishops serving under Archbishop Mensah in 53 congregations in the archdiocese.

On September 30, 2016 The Reverend Father Matthew Enoch Mount, BA, MDiv, MBA (Rock Falls, IL, U.S.A.) was incardinated into The Anglocatholic Church and appointed as a Bishop Elect by His Beatitude Patriarch Dr. Heigo Ritsbek.

On October 5, 2016 The Archdiocese of Saint John the Apostle of The Anglocatholic Church, working in Ghana, Kenya, South Africa and Pakistan and led by The Most Reverend Emmanuel Kwasi Mensah reported its statistics which shows, that under His Eminence Archbishop Mensah there are 53 parishes, 69 priests, and 189 deacons. Total faith community under him is 4,925 people.

On October 21, 2016, by the decree of His Beatitude, The Patriarch of The Anglocatholic Church, The Most Reverend Dr. Heigo Ritsbek, MA, MDiv, DMin, LittD, DD, Archbishop The Most Reverend Glentis G. Gladstone, has been elevated as a Metropolitan Archbishop of The Anglocatholic Church. At the same time his archdiocese in Canada has been elevated as The Metropolitan Archdiocese of Saint Basil of The Anglocatholic Church (Canada).

On November 11, 2016 by the decree of The Most Reverend Dr. Heigo Ritsbek, MA, MDiv, DMin, LittD, DD, The Patriarch of The Anglocatholic Church, the highest organ of the Church – The Patriarch’s Council – has been named The Holy Synod.

On January 25, 2017 The Most Reverend Donatien Abel Tshitanta, D.D., from DR Congo has rejoined The Anglocatholic Church. Archbishop Tshihanta joins us with 1,450 Christians, 29 priests, and 17 deacons. Metropolitan Archbishop Dr. Tshihanta is over Metropolitan Archdiocese of Saint Sepulchre in Jerusalem of The Anglocatholic Church.

On Saturday May 20, 2017, His Beatitude Patriarch Dr. Heigo Ritsbek participated with The Reverend Gustav Piir from Estonian Evangelical Lutheran Church at the Investiture of The Estonian Grand Priory of The International Knights Order of Saint Michael the Archangel and the Investiture of The Royal Fraternity of Saint Teotonius of Portugal at Tallinn Holy Ghost Lutheran Church. Patriarch Ritsbek participated in blessing the new members of the Orders, prayed the Collect Prayer and gave the Benediction at the end of the Solemn Ceremony. During the ceremony, Patriarch Heigo Ritsbek was given the Medal of Merit by the Royal Brotherhood of Saint Teotonius from Portugal. Patriarch Ritsbek also gave the key-note speech at the Gala Banquest that night.

By the decree of His Beatitude Patriarch Dr. Heigo Ritsbek of The Anglocatholic Church the membership of The Holy Synod of The Anglocatholic Church is: Patriarch Heigo Ritsbek, Metropolitan Glentis G. Samuel, and Canon David Smith. The decree is effective immediately – on May 22, 2017.

By the decree of His Beatitude, The Most Reverend Dr. Heigo Ritsbek, MA, MDiv, DMin, LittD, DD, The Patriarch of The Anglocatholic Church, on June 28, 2017 it was confirmed that The Canon Law of The Anglocatholic Church will be legal and binding for the whole Anglocatholic Church from August 4, 2017. Also The Patriarch confirmed by his decree the Liturgy of the Consecration of Bishops of The Anglocatholic Church (effective immediately – June 28, 2017) and announced, that if the Diocesan Bishops or Metropolitan Archbishops or Archbishops decide so, they may choose an ancient rite for the liturgy under their jurisdiction. Also the Liturgy used by St Basil Cathedral in Toronto, Canada was encouraged to be used in The Anglocatholic Church by the Patriarch, if bishops decide so.

By the decree of His Beatitude The Most Reverend Dr. Heigo Ritsbek, MA, MDiv, DMin, LittD, DD, The Patriarch of The Anglocatholic Church on July 7, 2017 the official flag of The Anglocatholic Church was confirmed.

By the decree of His Beatitude, The Most Reverend Dr. Heigo Ritsbek, MA, MDiv, DMin, LittD; DD, Patriarch of The Anglocatholic Church, Bishop Elect Fr Paul Jacob Boardman, Jr. has been named as a member of The Holy Synod of The Anglocatholic Church effective immediately, July 14, 2017. Currently the members of The Holy Synod are: Patriarch Dr. Heigo Ritsbek; Metropolitan Archbishop Glentis Samuel; Canon David Smith; Bishop Elect Paul Jacob Boardman, Jr.
